School Syllabus

  • Senior Tap Class

    TAP

Imagine a fusion of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers with the vibrant energy of STOMP! The Musical.

Tap dancing is a wonderfully diverse art form that utilizes intricate rhythms to produce captivating sounds and beats through the metal plates on the soles of your shoes.

  • BALLET

This is one of the oldest classical styles in existence.

While it has evolved and incorporated more variations over the years, the core technique has remained consistent. Progression from a young age to a senior level involves training in pointe work and pas de deux.

  • MODERN

Home of jazz, lyrical, contemporary & acro!

This incredibly diverse style covers so many different aspects of musicality. Master the technical elegance of jazz and unleash the expressive flow of contemporary, and you'll be twirling into the world of well-rounded dancers!

Principal Dance Teacher - Lydia Coomb

Lydia has been dancing since she was three years old, beginning her journey at the Pirouette School of Dance in Blackheath and Ingatestone, where she trained in Tap, Ballet, Modern, and Lyrical styles. At the age of 14, she began assisting in classes, and by 17, she became a full staff member while also starting her teacher training with the UTD examining board. In 2013, at 18, Lydia pursued further education at a vocational dance college in South East London to enhance her skills in Ballet, Contemporary, and Jazz.

In 2020, Lydia opened LC Dance, initially known as The Dance Co., and she is currently continuing her training with the ISTD examining board to gain certification in Tap, Ballet, and Modern. Soon, she will be able to enter her students into examinations for those styles.

Lydia's passion for dance and her commitment to excellence have been the driving forces behind her successful career. Her dedication to nurturing young dancers is evident in her teaching style, which combines technical precision with creative expression. At LC Dance, Lydia fosters an environment where students are encouraged to explore their individuality while mastering the fundamentals of dance. Her holistic approach to teaching not only helps students excel in their development but also instils a lifelong love for dance. With each class, Lydia inspires her students to reach their fullest potential, ensuring that they leave the studio not only as better dancers but also as more confident individuals.
